What is a Labradoodle?

A labradoodle is a cross between a purebred lab and a purebred poodle, either standard or miniature. The breed was first developed in Australia in the 1970s when the Royal Guide Dog Association of Australia was working to create an allergy-friendly guide dog and has since become a popular pet due to the allergy-friendly and low to no shed coat coupled with an easy-going, friendly disposition.

Word spread about the assets of this new breed, and breeders in Australia started to work with the idea of improving and refining the breed. Soon breeders from around the globe joined in to develop the Australian Labradoodle we all know and love today.

Although different breeds were used in the initial fine-tuning of the breed, today around the world three breeds are now used to make the Australian Labradoodle: Labrador Retriever, Poodle, and Cocker Spaniel (English or American). At this point in time, these are the only three breeds that may still be infused into the Australian Labradoodle, according to WALA Rules and Regulations.

Sociable, smart, and affectionate, the breed is sought after as a pet as well as a therapy and service dog and is also known to be easy to train, intuitive, and loyal. Moderately active and athletic, your labradoodle may well love to hike, swim and play fetch and enjoys daily mental stimulation. Besides being a wonderful allergy-friendly family companion, service roles Labradoodles are used for include seizure alert, diabetic alert, service, and therapy work. The labradoodle is also a desirable dog for sporting and agility competitions. This link has some great info on Labradoodle Coat Colors.

Hi, I'm Andrea

Hi, my name is Andrea. I was born and raised in Sandy Utah and currently live in Saratoga Springs Utah. I started out as a guardian home for my Mable, standard poodle, and ended up helping whelp a little for the breeders.

Through that experience, I fell in love with the breeding process. I have always loved dogs and deeply enjoy using my experience as an OB Tech at a local hospital helping deliver babies into this world.

My experience allows me to breed top-quality, genetic health tested puppies that are all given Socialization and Enrichment play opportunities.

My husband and I have 5 kids: two boys and 3 girls, and they love helping me with the puppies.

Lifelong Health

I work to give your puppy the best start in life possible, but your dog's long-term health is up to you. Feeding high-quality food, teaching desired behaviors, and giving your dog outlets for mental and physical stimulation are all important elements of your pup's lifelong health.
